Overview

Join this workshop to learn how sport can contribute to promoting social cohesion both on and off the field.

In particular, this workshop will define the notion of social cohesion, present different ways sport activities and programmes can support social cohesion, and discuss pedagogical concepts underpinning social cohesion activities. In addition, a potential pathway to transfer cohesive behaviours from the pitch to the community will be jointly developed with the participants.

Participation in the web-seminar “Introduction to S4D” or prior knowledge of S4D are required for this workshop.

The workshop will take place with a minimum of 10 participants. 

The workshop consists of several modules, include self-study and group assignments. Participation in an introductory Web Seminar (“Introduction to S4D”) or prior knowledge of S4D are required for the workshop. In order to guarantee an interactive and participatory workshop atmosphere, regular attendance, active engagement and a stable internet connection are required. Participation with a laptop is recommended. You must attend at least 80% or more of the workshop to be eligible for a certificate of attendance. Please only sign up if you are 100% sure that you can take part in all days of the workshop!

The registration will close the week before the workshop is scheduled (Thursday 11:59 pm).

The workshop will be run by speakers from the German Sport University Cologne (GSU).

The workshop is a three-day- workshop and will take place from 20 to 22 April 2022 (Tue, Wed, Thu) with 3 hours per day from 3:00pm to 06:00pm (UTC+2).
